Lola has arrived!!!

...two weeks ago :) Amazing how time flies when a new baby is in the house. Lola was born Octber 2, 8 lbs 1 oz and so precious. My girls tend to have pretty dramatic births but we are both doing well and improving daily. Lola had her two week appointment yesterday and has surpassed her birth weight after working really hard to do so.
My awesome mom has been here for almost two weeks doing night duty so that Barrett and I can rest. It has been a huge blessing!!! Chloe loves Lola and Reef will randomly swing by and say HI LOLA! While having three is, well, more work, it has already worked its magic in our home.

End of Summer and Into Fall

It has been such a great end of summer finale. Chloe started preschool and has learned so much already. I am amazed by her use of logic and manners, vocabulary and letters.
Reef has also become more independent and even more kind and mischievous. While Lola remains MIA, even two days after being due, we are getting excited about meeting her. We finished construction on the garage and it is now the nursery/guest suite. The Fall will bring us more adventures and more life...updates will ensue.

Summer of Growth

Summer of 2014 was awesome! Chloe truly grew into her 4 year old status, starting preschool, taking swim lessons, and moving out of the nursery at school. She is a big help at home now, already taking responsibility for cleaning up and watching Reef. Reef has had a word boom and is now speaking in full sentences and sleeping in a big bed. He has the sweetest heart and loves to read, snuggle, and watch tractors and trucks.

My belly is also growing as we are now a mere 4 weeks away from welcoming Lola into our house...which has expanded. This summer we started construction on our garage and it is nearing completion as a nursery and bedroom suite. Even though we are excited to have Lola with us, we are taking advantage of this time we have as the four of us...swimming, going to the park, the lake, and church.

We travelled to the beach with Barrett's family this summer and survived a very mild hurricane. The kids had so much fun with their cousins.

The First Annual Fryar Vacation

This week my family started a new tradition: the summer mountain trip. The summers of my childhood and teenage years were filled with my mother's family beach trips. Even now some of my favorite memories of my aunts, uncles, and cousins come from those trips.
I was thrilled when my whole family agreed it was past time to start our tradition as we all have kids who are begging for cousin time.
We spent the week at Beech Mtn., relaxing at the pool, going to Tweetsie, eating tasty meals, and best of all, laughing with eachother. It was so nice just waking up to the faces of my mom and dad making coffee, my brother in law making breakfast, my sisters laughing on the couch, and the kids chasing eachother.
Yep, it was a slice of heaven. Thank you God for summer!

Summer's Comin'

Reef has a new sentence in his bank: "Summer's commin'" and you can fill in summer with any name or vehicle and it applies. Summer is rapidly approaching and here in the Hill we are taking the weather seriously. Here is the intro to Summer Freezy-style:

Loving the New Place

We have moved so much since we first got married: Wilmington, Boone, Blowing Rock, Lenoir, Chapel Hill, and Governor's Village Chapel Hill. Yes, the last few moves have been with
babies/pregnancies. I feel like each move has brought us closer to home, especially this house. We have a huge backyard for the kids, a great floor plan, comfortable front porch, walking distance to the park, pool, organic yogurt, coffee show, grocery store, and restaurants...oh, and the lake...AND CHURCH! The best part is that I can see our growing family transitioning through life here. Chloe is an outside girl and loves free play. Reef is totally independent and loves to run. Lola? Well she's still cooking. Despite the craziness of these last months, I am loving this new house.
